Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
Merlin's beard! Young wizard Harry Potter has come to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and darker forces are on the move. A 3-D action-adventure video game, based on J.K. Rowling's first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the Sony PlayStation 1 version transports you to the magical realm of witchcraft and wizardry. Play as Harry Potter in this third-person perspective game that lets you explore the school grounds while solving more than 30 puzzles and going on fun quests. Follow first-year students and Harry’s best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, along with a dozen of your other favorite characters as you navigate through the story. The world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts awaits you. Take a flying lesson with Madam Hooch as Harry Potter will need to successfully complete several challenges before he can fly in games of Quidditch. Gryffindor is counting on Harry in upcoming matches against Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. If you collect enough Wizard Cards, Harry will get to do battle in a Quidditch match against Slytherin. You can even collect points for your house when you excel at the tasks you are given. The House Cup will be awarded to the house with the most points, and it’s up to Harry to help Gryffindor get them. Before he can find the stone, Harry needs to go to Charms Class and learn spells like the Fire-Making Spell, which you’ll need to battle evil plants. Don’t be late for your Potions Class, where Professor Snape has a task for Mister Harry Potter. Don’t forget to visit gentle giant Hagrid in the Forbidden Forest who has a prize for Harry. Of course, there’s a game of giant chess waiting for you just like in the original story. Collect colored beans that are scattered throughout the game. Find enough beans around the school grounds and you can trade them in to Fred and George Weasley for equipment upgrades like a beautiful Nimbus 2000 broom. Complete tasks and puzzles to learn all the spells and tricks that will get Harry through his first year of school. Look out, though, because there are creatures waiting around the bend to cause trouble. Gnomes will steal your colored beans if you aren’t careful. Orange Snails can burn you, but you can learn how to cast spells like the Knockback Spell to repel attacks. This video game is rated E for everyone, so it’s perfect for children of all ages. This original PlayStation version has an average gameplay of five to seven hours, and children from 8 to 80 will stay occupied with the various puzzles, challenges, and quests for hours. Solve riddles, collect points, cards, and beans, and emerge victorious in Boss Battles and complete quests. Stay alert, though, because Harry's nemesis, Draco Malfoy, is up to no good and determined to steal the Sorcerer's Stone.
