MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift takes players out onto an island for a brand new flavor of racing. It serves as a sequel to MotorStorm and brings the MotorStorm festival out of Monument Valley and into the lush greenery and sandy beaches of island life. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift introduces the monster truck to the festival, giving players an eighth vehicle with which to compete. All seven of the vehicles from the original game are also available, from bikes and ATVs to racing trucks and rally cars, and several have new abilities. Monster trucks are capable of driving right over cars and mowing down vegetation, while bikes can now bunny hop over obstacles for added maneuverability. With all 51 original vehicles and a slew of new additions, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift offers a huge variety for players to choose between. You also have the option of choosing a driver while in the garage. The game comes with 16 tracks that wind through a beautiful tropical paradise, with interactive scenery acting as obstacles and even boosts throughout the race. Set beside the Pacific Ocean, this installment in the MotorStorm series introduces water to the landscape, allowing players to drive through streams, pools, and waterfalls. Burning lava, swift rivers, and thick volcanic clouds push drivers to their limits and force players to focus hard on the elusive finish line. For gamers who prefer to play with other people, the split-screen mode of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift pitches players against one another in their quest for speed. You can race up to three other people, using all of your driving skills to beat them around your chosen tracks. No two races are the same; events happen randomly throughout the different games, forcing players to approach every lap differently and inserting an extra layer of excitement. Plow your way across your opponents in a monster truck, or trust in your speed and skills to take you to the finish line. Photo mode allows players to take screenshots to share with the community. Whether you want to commemorate a win or record an especially spectacular crash, this feature lets you save a screenshot right off of your PS3. The improved control layout delivers easier navigation. The new rating system looks not only at how fast you go but at your performance as well, letting you know just how well you did in different games as you tore it up around the track. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is a must-have for fans of racing games. With a new vehicle class and a vibrant island environment, it offers hours of exciting gameplay and a huge array of races. The MotorStorm games are known for their action, and this installment delivers the adrenaline and variety that keeps each race intense.
